  • Directly manage a team of 6-8 engineers with 1-2 team leads providing constructive feedback, technical leadership, and coaching.
  • Capable of leading an agile team day to day and serving as scrum master.
  • Establishes Engineer KPIs in partnership with the team, and reports results.
  • Identifies improvements to development process, obtains support and leads the charge on implementing change.
  • Work with team leads on design and architecture of new features and functionalities.
  • Work closely with the team's Product Owner & Engineering Architect to present issues, risks and their impact on proposed solutions
  • Empower the team to solve complex problems, with scalable technology solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to solve complex business problems
  • Own responsibility for overall product code quality and mentor team members to follow best practices
  • Think creatively and work outside the box -- we love new ideas


  • 3-5 years demonstrated experience managing and leading engineering teams.
    • Must be skilled at providing constructive, timely feedback and have a history of growing direct reports.
  • At least 5 years experience coding in 2 of the following: Ruby on Rails, Java, or PHP
  • At least 2 years experience leading an engineering team supporting an SEO/SEM driven business
  • Proven experience increasing quality AND engineering throughput
  • Experience working with service oriented architecture and micro services
  • Strong advocate and proponent of agile development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • BS in Computer Science or related field

  • Certified Scrum Master
  • Masters in Business Administrator or equivalent.
